In reading about the housing market in Detroit, I have only come across one article regarding artists and other folks reclaiming the city. I think it is brilliant, with ideas like retooling old homes to make them more efficient and eco-friendly (not to mention the great deals on the homes themselves). If it weren't so darned far away, I would come up and check it out (I am in KC). Honestly, in looking at Google Street View, Detroit looks kind of creepy with all of the open space. I suppose the other side of that is that the open space is there to use and enjoy! I will continue to check in on your blog, and I wish all the best! Paddy
Detroit Unreal Estate Agency's members produce, collect and inventory information on the ‘unreal estate’ of Detroit: that is, on the remarkable, distinct, characteristic or subjectively significant sites of urban culture. The agency is aimed at new types of urban practices (architecturally, artistically, institutionally, everyday life, etc) that came into existence, creating a new value system in Detroit.
